Daily Terms of Use

Effective October 14, 2026

These terms apply to your use of Daily, a notes, calendar and alarm service provided by Egoist ("we") as an iPhone app and on the web at daily.egoist.kr (the "service"). By signing in to or using the service, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

  • Daily lets you keep and manage notes, events (a calendar) and alarms, and reminds you about them.
  • You can use Daily without signing in, in which case your data is stored only on your device. If you sign in, you can pick up where you left off on any device and, if you wish, sync events with Google Calendar.
  • Daily is currently free. If we add paid features, we will tell you the terms in advance.

2. Your account

  • You create an account by signing in with a Google account or, in the iPhone app, an Apple account. Daily does not ask you for a separate password.
  • You must be at least 14 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for the Google or Apple account you sign in with and for your devices. If you find that someone else has used your account, sign out of all devices in Settings and let us know.
  • An account created with Google and an account created with Apple are separate accounts, even if they use the same email address.

3. Your content

  • You own the notes, events and alarms you save in Daily.
  • We handle your content only as needed to provide the service: storing it, syncing it, displaying it, and syncing it with a Google Calendar you connect. Personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • You are responsible for your content and for making sure it is lawful. Please keep your own copy of anything important.

4. What you must not do

You must not do any of the following.

  • Use someone else's account or impersonate another person.
  • Interfere with the service, for example by sending excessive automated requests.
  • Try to access systems or other users' data that you are not authorised to access.
  • Reverse engineer the service, exploit vulnerabilities, or use the service for unlawful purposes.

If we confirm any of the above, we may restrict or close the account after giving notice (in urgent cases, we will give notice without delay after acting).

5. Changes and interruptions

  • We may add, change or remove features. We will give advance notice of important changes that are unfavourable to you.
  • All or part of the service may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, outages, or issues with external services (Google, Apple, hosting providers).
  • If we shut the service down, we will give 30 days' notice and time for you to move your data.

6. About notifications and alarms

Daily's notifications and alarms are scheduled with iPhone's own notification and alarm features. We work to make them go off on time, but they may not go off, or may go off late, in cases such as these.

  • You haven't allowed notifications or alarms, or have turned them off.
  • Device settings such as Focus, silent mode, volume or Low Power Mode affect them.
  • The device is turned off or out of battery, or the app has been deleted.
  • An operating system restriction, bug or update affects them.
  • An event or alarm changed on the web or on another device hasn't synced to that iPhone yet (it is applied when you open the iPhone app).

Notifications and alarms do not go off on the web. Daily is a tool for everyday planning. For anything where missing it could cause serious harm, such as medication, medical care, safety, or catching a flight, don't rely on Daily's notifications and alarms alone. Use another method as well.

7. External services

  • Sign in with Google, Sign in with Apple and Google Calendar are provided by those companies and are subject to their own terms and policies.
  • When you connect Google Calendar, events you create or edit in Daily are applied to the Google calendar you choose, and changes in that calendar are applied to Daily. If the same event is changed on both sides, we ask you which version to keep.
  • These features may be limited if an external service has an outage or changes its policies.

8. Intellectual property

The software, design, logo, name and other elements of the service belong to Egoist or their rightful owners. We grant you the right to use the service for personal purposes under these terms. Do not copy, modify or redistribute it without permission, except as the law allows.

9. Closing your account

  • You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings › Delete Account.
  • Deleting your account deletes the account and your content, and they can't be recovered. The information we keep for a period after deletion, and for how long, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
  • Events you exported to Google Calendar remain in your Google account.
  • Data saved on your device without signing in is removed when you delete the app or clear the site's data in your browser.

10. Limitation of liability

  • We work to keep the service reliable, but we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • To the extent permitted by law, and given that the service is provided free of charge, we are not liable for the following unless caused by our intent or gross negligence: losses from a notification or alarm that did not go off or went off late; losses caused by your device, operating system, network or an external service; losses from a lost device or from not keeping your account secure; and loss of data.
  • Nothing in this section limits rights that the law guarantees to consumers.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. When we do, we will post the effective date and what changed on this page at least 7 days in advance (30 days for important changes that are unfavourable to you). If you don't agree to the new terms, you can delete your account. If you keep using the service after the effective date, you agree to the new terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes will be handled by the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
